In 2010, I joined one of the leading global executive search firms, and since then, my career has been on a continuous upward trajectory.
I started my career as an HR Consultant and quickly began managing teams. From leading small teams, I moved on to lead larger teams and, from there, to managing business units, key client groups, or specific geographical areas. Always within the talent management services world. I’ve also been able to contribute to the international expansion of Spanish firms in the global market and, in my latest stage, to implementing an internationally consolidated firm within the Spanish market. And all of this alongside the most important project of our lives, which is the creation and growth of our own family.
I’ve learned a lot. I’ve enjoyed it more often than not. But I’ve never been fully satisfied with what we call “customer orientation.” And that’s because, when managing teams and businesses, the variables affecting the service we provide are almost infinite. Large structures require a series of considerations to ensure their profitability, and these inevitably affect, sooner or later, the service we offer. Costs, time, technology, or methodology are meticulously studied to guarantee that profitability first.
However, I believe that the most profitable long-term relationships are those built on the trust that we always work in the best interest of all parties. To do that, it’s essential to treat each client and each project as if it were the only one.
Over the last 15 years, I’ve been managing talent-related matters for my clients. Bringing in the professional profiles they’ve needed and developing more effective organizations. And from observing all the large projects and experiences I’ve participated in, I can draw one conclusion: no two challenges are the same. Every company has specific needs—whether by profile, culture, or project maturity. The variables are endless. And so is every professional in the market. This is why service orientation and flexibility are core principles of our activity. I believe that only by practicing this empathy exercise, without interference from other interests, can we build useful, long-lasting professional relationships.
